It started with a single garnet earring, in 2017.
Lamaze Elegance began in a one-room studio in Westlands, Nairobi. Violet was thirty-two, working from a folding table, and refusing to make jewelry that anyone else was making. The first edition was twelve pairs of earrings. They sold out in three days.
Nine years later the table is a Nairobi atelier and a quiet office in Marina, Dubai. There are twelve artisans, six editions a year, and a single rule — twenty-four of each design, and never a restock.
Everything else has stayed the same. Garnet, vermeil, mother-of-pearl, silk. Pieces that get inherited. The kind of elegance that does not need to announce itself — which, in our experience, is the only kind worth keeping.
Twelve hands, six rooms.
Westlands, Nairobi. Open to visitors by appointment, Tuesday through Saturday.
Four things we will not do.
When an edition is gone, it is gone. Twenty-four exist of each design — we keep our word on that.
Every piece passes through Violet's hands before it ships. If she would not wear it on a Tuesday, it does not leave the atelier.
Cast, finished, plated, polished, packed — all under one roof in Westlands. No middlemen, no markup we did not earn.
No Black Friday, no urgency banners. Twice a year we move the previous edition at -15%. That is all.
